How would you describe love? Would you connect it to someone or would you connect it to the feeling it brings? The truth is that it is impossible to describe love, you need to experience love to get an idea of what it looks like. Love doesn't have a form, it is abstract and it can come in many ways, but when it comes, let it in and let this abstract word bring some concrete adventure to your life.
Love maybe is one of the most complex feelings you'll ever feel. Sometimes it will bring you down and make you regret meeting it. Sometimes it will make you cry and even believe that it doesn't exist, that it is only a weapon to destroy you, and believe me, sometimes you will feel like this, because it is part of this confusing and messy feeling. But, on the other hand, love is easy, love brings peace, love brings fun, love makes you so light that you will feel like flying. Do you know that strange but delightful sensation when you feel butterflies in your stomach? Love makes you feel that, feel good, feel safe, feel beautiful.
Love doesn't have an exact time to come, it just arrives when you least expect it. You don't need to look for it, it doesn't matter how much you desire to find it, it will only come when it has to, and it will turn your world upside down from one day to the next.
When I think about love and how to keep it I always think of a story I once heard that compares it to sand. You need to imagine you are holding sand in your hands. If you close your hand too little, it will slip away and if you close your hand too much, the same thing will occour. That is what happens to love. You need to know limits so you can keep it and never get tired of it. When love arrives, hold it, but don't suffocate it. Hold it in a way that it is comfortable to you and your partner.
Everything always happens for a reason. If you experience love and some day it ends, don't regret it, but think about it as a life lesson, as something that was necessary for you to grow up and be mature for the next love to arrive. Break ups are normal and it is not the end of the world, even though it might seem like it. Just because a love ends it doesn't mean it can't begin again and that you have to lose faith. Some things are meant to be and some not.
When love arrives let it come in, leave the door to your heart always open. Even thougt it might be a mess, it is for sure one of the best messes you'll ever get yourself into.
